Miho Wada & CHIQ blends traditional Japanese music and contemporary New Zealand sounds together in a cutting edge style.

Their repertoire is mostly co-written by Miho Wada and Colin Hunter, but also contains significant improvisation, which creates a dynamic energy flow and a divine atmosphere.

Miho's haunting flute melodies accompanied on marimba played by Takumi Motokawa bring out the sensitive Japanese flavour. Combined with Colin's experimental and free jazz background they present a whole new brand of sounds to the World Music scene.
